HoT Rod: Let me give you another point of view. Say some urban gentleman comes home from a hard days amphetamines use and finds his welfare queen has been letting his pen pal (as in penitentiary pal) play rump elf with her. He draws his roscoe and smokes up his former bunk mate then takes his meal ticket (the welfare queen) and her trick babies (common term for offspring created by failed prophylactics, and of course these trick babies never know who there real fathers are and are very often of mixed race and seldom resemble their siblings - hence the term trick babies) hostage. Well the neighbors in this subsidized housing (read that as where the taxpayers not the occupants pay the rent) hear the commotion and summon the local Police. The police arrive and try and negotiate with the ex-con turned speed freak. No luck - justs threats to kill more sub humans! Negotiations turns to pleading then to begging then waiting interspersed with begging. Our speedo is getting jittery and sicker. He smokes up his welfare bitch (common language used by ex-cons when referring to someone who gets free rent and will let you shack with her for drugs and a little physical punishment now and then) then the police break in and save the odd looking children and take the con back "to the walls" (con and police talk for the prison at Walla Walla in Washington State). By the way did I mention this is a true story. One in which I was involved. But the story is not over. The Lawyers (scum of the earth) descend on the odd looking children and sue the police. Yes, not the speed freak and not the welfare department that won't keep tabs on the welfare of the millions of trick babies in our country and lets the ex-con live with them. Nope the police. The police were sued for not being able to break into this slime pit at night in the dark (lights were out) and save the welfare queen for the trick babies to continue to bond with while watching her use drugs intravenously and turn tricks at night. The millions of dollars the scum and the trick babies shared at the end of the trial would make you cry. So the department I worked for began training some of its members in Military type tactics (night vision devices and stun grenades etc) and weapons (automatic weapons, sniper rifles etc). These tactics were begun not as a way to kill the Mormons or the Muslims or the Jews nor to keep a lid on the members of the Reform Party or the Republican Right. Nope these tactics were begun to protect the treasuries of various municipalities from lawyers (scum)! End of story. I forgive you for your pathetic naivete but you have not been paying attention.
Your remark about trigger happy police is equally misguided. I have seen police accidentally kill people while mishandling their weapons during stressful situations. This is extremely rare and I do not consider this being trigger happy. I have also seen police accidentally shoot other police. None of the incidents I have knowledge of did the officer involved (triggerman) want to cause harm to the citizen or other police. That happens in stressful times in the dark in the rain in an alley after a chase etc etc. But again those are exceedingly rare and I have never seen a situation of a trigger happy policeman mowing someone down. I believe the officer (ATF or FBI Agent as I recall) involved at Ruby Ridge should be in jail! I do not know if that was a trigger happy police man or not. He should still be in jail. That is the only case I know of a policeman possibly being trigger happy/criminal. I should mention a policeman I worked with in Seattle. He killed 2 people he was doing a credit card scam with. There was also some child pornography and pedophilia mixed in this mess. The second man our officer killed was wearing a small tape recorder and even though dead when found the recording implicated our policeman as the killer and he went to the big house for some tough time!
Justice was served. I am sorry I just have to disagree on the notion that the police are trigger happy. In my lifes experience there is no such animal. Now for this. If your local police were quick to plug desperadoes I think in the long run you would be better off. Yes your wife and daughters would be raped less often and your guns would be stolen less often same with your automobile. And the chances of your son being addicted to heroin would be about zero. When people murdered their ex-wives along with some poor Jewish kid who was returning her sunglasses then the police got in a chase with the murderer along the freeway I think under your view of things that person would have been shot..... nah I don't think so. I worked with a young Catholic policeman who was in a stand off with a common whore. The welfare recipient (prostitute) had a boxcutter our choirboy a Smith and Wesson! The standoff stood for sometime and it ended not with a dead street walker but with a dumbfounded rookie with a large X cut in his chest. The scars of which he has to this day. He chose to not shoot when she charged. Trigger happy - I don't think so. Lucky to be alive yes. I pointed out to him that his throat was right next to his X!
Pay a little closer attention Hot Rod and I think you will change your mind.
Hold into the wind
