I don't know about the new style license with the barcode on the back but the I still have the old style and have been stopped several times and the officer asked for my chl, so I asked if it was on the computer he said it was. I have been told that the barcode information on the new licenses has the information on it. I have never had any trouble when stopped other that the first time in Keene Texas which is a religious cult type town, I was stopped and detained for 45 minutes because the officer did not know what to do and had never seen a chl, he called for a supervisor and 45 minutes later allowed me to leave.
