I'm a bit shaky on the rules concerning crossfires and only putting four shots in the record target, but I was thinking that if you announced the first crossfire, the shot was transferred to your target and calculated into your group. If a penalty was added, I thought it was nine or ten inches. I may be dead wrong on all counts, I just remembered penalties were severe enough that I never crossfire (so far!) and I put a sixth or seventh shot into the record rather than risk being one shy if I forget my count. (Dang I hate admitting I often have difficulty counting to five. With both hands busy, I can't use my fingers. I may have to check the rules. If I leave one shoe off I could use my toes.)
