I have a factory Rem700 in 17 Rem that I have had about 3 years and have put arounk 1 K loads down the barell. I have noticed lots of fouling on case necks lately. I reciently tried soft seating a 25 and 30 grain Berger just in the mouth of the case and tried chambering it. Neither bullet touched the lands seated as far out as they would barely stay in the case. I have about .260 of lead in the throat. I still manage to shoot .7 to 1 moa.? I have even shoot some 15gr Bergers OK. Do I have anything to be concerned about? I belive the chamber came from the factory with this deep throat. Could the sammi standard for the chamber be in spec or did I get another Remington Reject? Any and all helpful comments welcome.
