My VE21 in 223 shoots a touch better than the VH21 does. On the wood, I called Cooper, and Dan Cooper answered. He really got upset when I demanded the money back on my VE21's because the wood on the VH21's was so good. If anything, the lack of the grip cap is handled in a way that I feel is more attractive than with one.
Also have little VH21 in the "Classic" style that is absolutely gorgeous. Will let you know how it shoots after this weekend, provided is doesn't snow tomorrow, like it's promised.
Try Whittaker Guns (check their website). They will ship you the gun (to your ffl) for 895 bux, delivered, for the "Classic", slightly less for the "heavy bbl."
You'll have trouble not slobbering all over either one of them.
