I guess I'm sounding like an old record about writing to the paper. Look, people who enjoy the shooting sports are going to have to fight for what is right. If we just vent our outrage on GGVG, and do nothing else, what good comes of it? We are preaching to the choir.
I urge all of you to NOT be silent. Please draft a concise, polite, handwritten note to your local paper about your views on the issue. We must educate the people who are not in the shooting sports.
Point 2: When was the last time you introduced a person to the shooting sports? This is our future base.
The shooting sports industry is in dire need of focused leadership. We need to stand together, get the NRA, GOA and all pro gun groups on the same page. Our individualism on finding the "most comfortable" organization is literally killing us.
You don't think individualism is a sign of weakness? Listen to Sen Arlen Spector (R-PA) race out to the TV cameras to say he ISN'T voting to remove Clinton. Just how many reports of DEMOCRATs do you see announcing their view.
Ladies and gentleman, we must put our differences aside to achieve the big picture. Please write to papers, TV stations, and your elected officials, NRA, GOA and the pro-gun group dejour.
Please. Venting here is wasting your effort, and my time, as I read of "our disgust" (sic). Thanks for wasting your time on my effort to help on this point
