Mike, I used some Speer 55 grainers several years ago on groundhogs in my 22-250 and they worked fine. Really just about like any of the standard .224 55 grain spitzers. They weren't especially accurate in my rifle, but their terminal performance was fine. For 55 grain spitzers, I like the Sierra boat-tails better. They just seemed more accurate and explosive. I've had much more impressive kills with the Hornady 55 grain SX, you just have to be careful and not push it too hard (past 3500). The SX would shoot an occasional one hole group in my rifle. - Theo
