That and the fact that eastern coyotes are alot more wary is what makes it so difficult. One thing that I try to do is call on the edge of a more open area, with the most open part downwind. The thinking is that he will circle around downwind and come from that direction. That just gets his nose in on the equation to confirm or deny what his ears are telling him. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. The only "always" that applies to eastern coyotes is that they are always surprising. If I were to go hunt them in southeast Arizona, it would probably ruin me for hunting them around here forever. I'm almost ruined on it already. - Theo
