I use red rouge for buffing wheels. It comes in a bar about 1" square and 4 inches long. Take a cheese grater (sp?) and grate away. About 1/2" in length at a time seems to be enough. If the grater is your wife's, it can be tossed in the dish washer to be good as new.
I don't use a tumbler for rifle cases as much as before. I think Varmint Al made the point one time that the case mouths get banged up too much, and can affect accuracy. For most rifle cases, a little steel wool in the neck area is all I do anymore. Pistol cases are another matter. Tumble the heck out of them.
