Red,
Not to throw a wrench in your plans, but I was wondering how much reloading experience you have? If you are just now getting into varminting and/or reloading, you should probably stick with a factory chambering IMHO. The standard .22-250 in a factory rifle like the Rem 700VS or Ruger M77VT would be your best choice. You can shoot varmints quite effectively with this standard round in a factory rifle, without alot of other worries (case-forming, neck-turning, etc). I am not against the Ackley chamberings, (I have a 6mm Ackley) but I don't think a new shooter/loader should go that route.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
