As mentioned you can get a 700 BDL Mountain Rifle in 243 w/o sights, and w/ a detachable magazine. These are supposed to be really good; I am looking at one as a possiblity for a light "walkabout" for allaround use. They MSRP for $635, according to the 1998 Remington dealer's catalong
