They are absolute JUNK. If I stepped on someones toes, keep the Hi-Point long enough and it alone will prove me right. If they are the quality by which we can judge Quality American craftsmanship in the future, we are in big trouble. The Little Marlin Camp carbines are great little rifles.... 9mm and 44Mag produced. If you can only afford an SKS and it is between that and the HiPoint, get the SKS. They are a lot of fun, faily accurate, cheap to shoot, and compared to the Hi Point are built like a Rolly Royce...My .o2.
