We(my brother,a friend and myself) were shooting rockchucks here in Utah one day 3 years ago. It was my brothers turn to shoot. I spotted a chuck with my spotting scope about as far away as you could shoot. He couldn't find it so I got the Ruger M77 Mk II V/T 220 Swift lined up and told him to try a shot. I saw the bullet strike on the rock staight below the chuck and told him that he hit 6-8 ft low and to try another. He shot again and I watched the chuck roll off the rock. I started hollering and the other guy called bull*&#@. I started walking and counting paces. When I got to the lava flow where the chuck was I couldn't believe my count. The chuck was laying on the back side of his rock with a hole right behind the shoulder. By this time my brother had run out. We both started pacing it on the way back. We came out with the same number 800 paces. We went back this year and I used my Bushnell 800 yardage pro and a 1x2 with two old car plates screwed to it for a good target. The yardage pro said 812 yds. Lots of luck? You bet. But you know what they say.
