Usually the S on gun parts, from my experience, stands for stainless. If the bolt to your rifle has a different serial number than the rifle and it is new.... I would contact the factory. If it is used I would try to get hold of whoever I bought it from. I would not fire the rifle unless the headspace was checked by a competent gunsmith...Usually different numbers on a bolt means it belonged to another gun and could have been mixed up somewhere. Not good.....do not shoot it unless you know it will work, you could be asking for real trouble.
