I am probably the only one here that has heard of it. Recently one of my customers treated me to a very unusual Christmas present, A Remington 722 chambered in 23 1/2 Corson, which is no more than a .243 necked down.Luckily he had about 500 76 gr. bullets to go with it. The bullet box is marked: Gardiner bullets
76 grain
23 1/2 Corson
made by Ernest L. Gardiner
P.O. Box 1682
Rockford, Il.

The dies are RCBS, made in 1970 as marked on the top. The barrel was made by W.H. Hobaugh, and the gentleman told me that when is was built(late 60's) it cost him a whopping $ 58.00 for the barrel, the labor, and the bluing.
The only thing keeping me from shooting this fine unusual piece, is it has'nt got a stock. Anybody out there got a stock for a 722?
